How to Cancel Your JustAnswer Membership: Web, App, and Support

To cancel your JustAnswer membership, log into your account at justanswer.com, open My Account, go to the Membership section, and click the cancellation option — unless you signed up through a mobile app, in which case you have to cancel through Apple or Google Play instead. Save the confirmation screen when you’re done. If the website loops you back through retention offers without ever confirming a cancellation, you have other routes, and if charges continue after you cancel, federal law gives you a way to claw them back.

First, Figure Out Where You Subscribed

The right cancellation path depends on how you signed up. Pull up a recent bank or card statement and look at the merchant name on the charge. If it reads as JustAnswer directly, you’ll cancel on their website. If it reads as Apple or Google, you subscribed inside a mobile app, and only that platform can stop the billing.

Before you start, make sure you can actually log in. Reset your password if you need to, and have the email address tied to the account ready. Check the date of your next billing cycle too. Canceling before that date stops the next charge; canceling after it means you’re asking for a refund on a charge that has already gone through.

Cancel Through the JustAnswer Website

Log into your account at justanswer.com and click your name or the profile icon in the upper corner. Choose My Account from the dropdown, then find the Membership or Subscription section inside your account settings. That page shows your current plan and the cancellation option.

Click to cancel. JustAnswer will almost certainly show a retention screen offering a discount or asking why you’re leaving. You don’t owe them an explanation. Pick any reason and keep clicking until you reach a screen that confirms your membership will not renew. Your account status should update to show a cancellation date, usually the end of the current billing period.

Take a screenshot of that confirmation. If JustAnswer bills you again later, the screenshot is your evidence.

If no cancellation button appears, or the site keeps looping you through retention offers without ever confirming, move on to contacting support. This has been a known problem: in January 2026, the Federal Trade Commission sued JustAnswer, alleging it enrolls consumers in monthly plans of $28 to $125 while advertising access for as little as $1 or $5, and fails to clearly disclose the subscription terms.1Federal Trade Commission. Cancel Through Apple or Google Play

If you subscribed through the JustAnswer mobile app, the website cannot cancel your subscription. Apple and Google handle the billing, and only they can stop it.

On iPhone or iPad

Open Settings and tap your name at the top to open your Apple ID. Tap Subscriptions to see everything active on your Apple account. Find JustAnswer, tap it, and choose Cancel Subscription. Apple confirms the cancellation and shows the date your access ends. You won’t be charged for the next cycle.

On Android

Open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile icon. Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Tap JustAnswer, then Cancel subscription, and confirm. Both Apple and Google send confirmation emails. Save them.

If Self-Service Doesn’t Work, Contact Support

JustAnswer offers three other ways to reach support when the account page won’t cooperate.

  • Phone. Call 1 (800) 314-2855 for U.S. support, or 1-925-418-3893 internationally. Say clearly that you want to cancel your membership and stop all future charges. Write down the date, time, and the name of anyone you speak with.2JustAnswer. Contact Customer Care
  • Online chat. On the help center, open the chat or virtual assistant and type a direct request like “cancel my membership” to trigger the cancellation flow. The bot may try to redirect you first.
  • Contact form. JustAnswer does not publish a support email address. The customer service page has a form for your name, account email, and a message. Response times run 4 to 24 hours. State that you are requesting immediate cancellation of your recurring subscription and include your account email.3JustAnswer. JustAnswer Customer Care

You should receive a confirmation email after any of these. If nothing arrives within 24 hours, try a different channel. An unconfirmed cancellation is functionally no cancellation at all.

Ask for a Refund

JustAnswer directs refund requests to Customer Care and does not publish specific refund criteria or a formal guarantee for membership fees.4JustAnswer. How Can I Request a Refund Whether you get one depends heavily on timing and how you frame the request. If you were charged a monthly fee you didn’t knowingly agree to, say so directly. Reference the low initial fee you thought you were paying and the higher recurring charge that showed up on your statement.

The trial period is seven days.5JustAnswer. How Long Is the Trial Period and Then What Is the Membership Cost Canceling inside that window gives you the strongest refund position. Once the trial converts, refunds get harder to obtain from JustAnswer directly, and disputing the charge with your bank becomes the more reliable route.

If Charges Continue After You Cancel

If JustAnswer keeps billing you after cancellation, dispute the charges with your card issuer under the Fair Credit Billing Act.

You have 60 days from the date the billing statement containing the error was sent to submit a written dispute. The letter needs your name, account number, and a description of the charge you believe is wrong. Send it to the address your issuer designates for billing inquiries, not the payment address. Certified mail with a return receipt gives you proof of delivery.6Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges

Your issuer must acknowledge your complaint in writing within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days. While the investigation is open, you can withhold payment on the disputed amount, and the issuer cannot report you as delinquent or send it to collections. Federal law caps your liability for unauthorized charges at $50.6Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges Attach your cancellation confirmation screenshot or email; that’s what it’s for.

If the charges hit a debit card, call your bank right away and consider asking for a new card number to shut off any further attempts. Debit card protections are weaker and more time-sensitive, so speed matters.

Deleting Your Account Is a Separate Step

Canceling stops future charges. It does not delete your account or the personal information JustAnswer has on file. If you want the data removed, that’s a second action.

In the JustAnswer mobile app on iOS or Android, tap Account at the bottom right, choose Edit Profile, and scroll to Delete account and data permanently. Tap it and confirm. The desktop site has no self-service deletion; you’ll need to call Customer Care at 1 (800) 314-2855 or use the contact form and request account closure and data deletion.7JustAnswer. How Can I Close My Account

Cancel first to stop the charges, then delete if you want your information removed. Once the account is gone, so is your past conversation history with experts, so save anything you may want to keep.
