To cancel a JDate subscription, use the same platform where you originally paid: the JDate website, the Apple App Store, or Google Play. The cancel button only appears on the platform that handles your billing, so app subscribers won’t find one on JDate’s site, and website subscribers won’t find one in their phone settings.1Jdate Help. Not sure which one you used? Check your bank or credit card statement. A charge that reads “APPLE.COM/BILL” or “GOOGLE*JDATE” means you subscribed through an app store. A charge that names JDate or Spark Networks directly means you subscribed on the website.
Cancel on the JDate Website
Log in and open the left sidebar menu. Go to My Profile, then Account Settings, then Subscription, then Manage Subscription, and follow the prompts to turn off auto-renewal.1Jdate Help. How Do I Cancel My Premium Subscription
JDate will email a confirmation. Keep it. If a charge appears later because of a glitch, that email is your evidence that you canceled on time.
JDate’s terms say your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel first. The terms don’t set a specific hours-before-renewal deadline, but cancel with time to spare rather than on the last day.2Jdate. Terms of Use
Cancel on iPhone
Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find JDate in the list, tap it, and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel on Android
Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, then go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Select JDate, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.4Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
Deleting the JDate app does not stop the charges. The subscription lives with Google Play, and only Google Play can cancel it. What Happens After You Cancel
Canceling stops future charges but doesn’t cut off access right away. Premium features stay on through the end of the billing period you already paid for. After that date, the account drops to JDate’s free Basic membership, which limits messaging, likes, read receipts, filters, and daily picks.6Jdate. Renewal Policy7Jdate Help. Canceling does not delete your profile. Photos, bio, and account stay visible to other members under a free-tier account until you either resubscribe or delete the account as a separate step.
Refunds
JDate generally does not give prorated refunds for canceling mid-cycle. You keep premium access through the paid period, and that’s the end of it.1Jdate Help. How Do I Cancel My Premium Subscription
There is a legal exception for two states. California law lets you cancel a dating service contract by midnight of the third business day after signing up and receive a full refund. Colorado has a nearly identical three-business-day window. Under the California statute, the refund must arrive within 10 days of the company receiving your cancellation notice, and the notice doesn’t need any specific format so long as it clearly says you want out.8Justia Law. JDate’s terms say to mail or deliver a signed, dated cancellation notice to Jdate Customer Care at Spark Networks, Inc., 3731 W South Jordan Parkway, Suite 102-405, South Jordan, UT 84009, or submit a request through the online support portal. Delete Your Account
Removing your profile is a separate action, and you have to cancel the subscription first. On the website, go to Profile in the left sidebar, then Account Settings, then Manage Account, then Delete Account. JDate asks you to confirm by clicking Delete Account again, choosing a reason, and typing the word “delete.” The app uses the same path from your profile icon in the bottom right.9Jdate Help. Deletion is permanent. JDate says your profile, matches, and messages are completely and permanently removed once you confirm, with no way to restore the account afterward. Save any conversations or contact details you want to keep before you finish.9Jdate Help. How Do I Delete My Profile
