How to Cancel Your DateMyAge Subscription or Account

To cancel your DateMyAge subscription, go through whichever channel is actually billing you: the DateMyAge website if you signed up there, or the Apple App Store or Google Play if you subscribed through an app. The steps take about two minutes, but you have to click through every confirmation screen or the cancellation doesn’t register. Below are the exact paths for each, plus what to expect on refunds, credits, and removing your profile.

Cancelling on the DateMyAge Website

If you subscribed directly on the site, cancel from your account there. From DateMyAge’s own cancellation policy:

Log in and click the three-line menu button (≡) to open the account menu.
Select “Settings” from the dropdown.
Find the “Manage Account” section. Under the text “Need a break? Go here to hide your account or cancel membership,” click the “Go here” link.
Choose “Cancel Subscription” and follow the prompts. You’ll be asked to pick a reason before the system finalizes the request.¹

Expect retention offers and discount screens along the way. Click past each one until you reach the final confirmation. Close the browser early and nothing gets cancelled.

Cancelling Through Apple or Google Play

If you subscribed through an app store, DateMyAge doesn’t control the billing. You have to cancel where the charge originates. Not sure which one? Check your Apple and Google Play subscription lists first. If DateMyAge appears there, that’s where the cancellation has to happen. Cancelling inside the DateMyAge app itself won’t always stop app-store billing.

iPhone or iPad

Open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap “Subscriptions.” Find DateMyAge and tap “Cancel Subscription.” The change processes immediately, and you keep access through the end of the current billing period.²

Android

Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then “Payments & subscriptions.” Tap “Subscriptions,” find DateMyAge, and select “Cancel subscription.” Google confirms on screen and you keep access through the end of the paid period.³

What Happens After You Cancel

The account doesn’t shut off the same day. Your paid membership runs through the end of the cycle you already paid for, and cancellation takes effect at the start of the next subscription month.¹ After that date, paid features stop, but your profile and message history stay on the platform unless you delete them separately.

Watch for a confirmation email at your registered address, and save it. If a billing dispute comes up later, that email is your evidence. Your dashboard should also show a pending cancellation or an expiration date. If neither happens within 48 hours, contact support.

Refunds and Unused Credits

DateMyAge does not prorate refunds when you cancel mid-cycle. Fees for the current subscription month are non-refundable, and any credits you already used stay used.¹ There’s no financial reason to cancel on day one of a cycle instead of day twenty-eight.

Credits are where money quietly disappears. Subscription credits (the ones bundled with your monthly plan) expire at the end of each one-month period and don’t roll over. Separately purchased credit packs expire 90 days after purchase, whether you cancel or not.¹

One narrow exception: if you made an “erroneous purchase” (a one-time accidental buy), you can request a full refund if none of those credits were spent, or a partial refund if some were. It’s a one-time allowance, and support aims to reply within 72 hours.¹

Auto-Renewal and Timing

Subscriptions renew automatically at the start of each new billing period, at the same price you originally agreed to, unless you cancel before the current period ends. By subscribing, you authorized DateMyAge to charge your payment method on each renewal date without additional notice.⁴

If the company plans to raise your price, they’re required to notify you at least 10 days before the end of your current term.⁴ Same-price renewals happen silently. If you know you want out, cancel a few days before your renewal date rather than on the day itself. Payment processors sometimes need a business day to register the change.

Cancelling Is Not the Same as Deleting Your Account

Cancelling stops the billing. It doesn’t remove your profile, photos, or message history, and your profile may still appear in other users’ search results after your paid features expire.

To remove your presence entirely, delete the account separately. The path starts the same way as cancellation: menu (≡) → Settings → Manage Account → “Go here.” From there, choose the account deletion option instead of subscription cancellation. There’s also a “hide profile” choice that makes you invisible but keeps your data intact.

If you want both, cancel the subscription first, then delete the account. That order makes sure the billing is handled before you lose access. DateMyAge’s privacy policy references a data deletion request process, though how long backup copies persist isn’t clearly spelled out in the public documents.⁵

If Charges Keep Appearing After You Cancel

Confirmed the cancellation and still seeing charges? You have options beyond DateMyAge’s support desk.

For credit card charges, the Fair Credit Billing Act lets you dispute billing errors, including unauthorized charges, by writing to your card issuer within 60 days of the statement date that first showed the charge. Federal law caps your liability for unauthorized charges at $50. The issuer must acknowledge your dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles, no more than 90 days.⁶

Save your cancellation confirmation email and screenshots of the cancelled status on your dashboard. Those are your evidence. If you cancelled through Apple or Google Play, both stores keep their own cancellation records that your bank may accept as proof.

The FTC’s click-to-cancel rule, finalized in late 2024, requires subscription sellers to make cancellation as simple as sign-up and to stop charges immediately once a consumer cancels. A company that makes cancellation harder than signing up is a potential violation you can report to the FTC.⁷
