To cancel a Canva subscription, use the same channel you used to sign up: cancel on the Canva website if you subscribed directly, through the Apple App Store if you signed up on an iPhone or iPad, or through Google Play if you signed up on Android. Knowing how to cancel your Canva subscription starts with that one question, because Canva can’t cancel a subscription that Apple or Google is billing on its behalf. Paid features stay active until the current billing period ends, then the account drops to the free tier.
First, Check Where You’re Being Billed
Look at your bank or card statement and see who the charge is coming from. If it says Canva, you cancel through the Canva website. If it says Apple, cancel through your iPhone or iPad settings. If it says Google, cancel through the Play Store. Uninstalling the Canva app on your phone does not stop billing on its own, and charges will keep coming until you turn off auto-renewal in the right place.1Canva. Cancel a Canva Plan
If you have more than one Canva account or more than one Apple ID or Google account, make sure you’re signed into the one that owns the subscription before you start.
Cancel on the Canva Website
If Canva bills you directly for Canva Pro or Canva Teams, cancel from your billing settings:
- Log in to the Canva account that holds the subscription.
- Click your profile icon on the homepage and select Settings.
- Go to Billing.
- Find your plan and click Cancel plan.
- Click Continue cancellation when prompted.
- Choose a reason for leaving, then click Continue cancellation again.
- Click Cancel subscription to finalize.
Canva may offer you a discount or another alternative on the way out. You can skip past those screens. Once you confirm, paid features stay active until the end of your current billing period, and then the account reverts to the free tier.1Canva. Cancel a Canva Plan
Cancel Through the Apple App Store
If you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, Canva itself can’t process the cancellation. You go through Apple:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Canva in the list.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
If there’s no cancel button, or you see a red expiration message, the subscription is already canceled. If Canva doesn’t appear in your Apple subscriptions list at all, the charge is coming from somewhere else, so check your statement to confirm who’s billing you.2Apple Support. Cancel Through Google Play
Android subscribers cancel in the Play Store:
- Open the Google Play app on your Android device.
- Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions.
- Select Subscriptions, then tap Canva.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Sign in with the Google Account that originally bought the subscription. If you have several, check each one.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
Pause Instead of Cancel
If you’re stepping away temporarily, Canva lets you pause your subscription for three months rather than end it. You won’t be charged during the pause, but you also lose access to premium features. Designs and your Brand Kit stay saved, and billing restarts automatically when the pause ends.
Follow the same path as cancellation (Settings → Billing → Cancel plan → Continue cancellation), but on the next screen choose “I want to pause my subscription” and confirm with Pause for 3 months. Google Play subscribers can pause directly from the Play Store’s subscription screen.1Canva. Cancel a Canva Plan
What Happens After You Cancel
Canceling stops future charges. It doesn’t delete anything. Your account moves to the free tier when the current billing period ends, with a few changes worth knowing about:
- Your designs stay in your account. You can still open, view, and edit them.
- Designs that use Pro stock photos, premium graphics, or Pro fonts will show watermarks if you try to download them on the free plan. You’d need to resubscribe or swap those elements for free alternatives.
- Your Brand Kit stays saved but is locked until you upgrade again.
- Cloud storage drops from 100 GB to 5 GB, which may block new uploads until you free up space.
Because premium elements get watermarked afterward, download anything you’ll need in final form before the paid period ends. Open the design, click Share, then Download, and pick your file type.1Canva. Cancel a Canva Plan
Canceling and deleting your account are separate actions. Cancellation is enough to stop paying; account deletion is a different process under Settings → Account & security and permanently erases your designs after a 14-day window.4Canva. Delete Account
Refunds
Canva subscriptions are generally non-refundable, but Canva reviews requests case by case. Annual subscribers who cancel shortly after a renewal charge have the best chance of a partial refund. Monthly subscribers are unlikely to get one for the current period.
To request a refund, go to Canva Support, select Payments, pricing, and billing, and choose “I want to request a refund for my plan” from the dropdown. Approved refunds take 5–10 business days for credit cards, 3–5 days for PayPal, and up to 20 days for other payment methods.5Canva. Refunds for Canva Subscriptions
If Apple or Google is billing you, Canva can’t process the refund. You’ll need to ask Apple or Google directly.1Canva. Cancel a Canva Plan
Canva Teams: Only Owners and Admins Can Cancel
If you’re on a Canva Teams plan, only team owners and administrators see the cancellation option. Members don’t. If you set up the team, you cancel it the same way you’d cancel a Pro plan through Billing. If someone else set it up, that person has to do it.
When a Teams plan ends, all members lose premium features at the close of the billing period. Designs each member made stay in their individual accounts, but shared team resources become restricted.5Canva. Refunds for Canva Subscriptions
Confirm the Cancellation Went Through
Watch for a confirmation email from Canva within a few hours. If it doesn’t arrive, log back in and check Settings → Billing to see that your plan status shows canceled or set to expire. Keep an eye on your bank or card statement through the next billing cycle. If a charge appears after you canceled, the confirmation email or a screenshot of your billing settings gives you what you need to dispute it with your bank or with Canva support.
