To cancel a Minecraft Marketplace Pass, go to the same platform where you signed up (Microsoft, Apple, Google Play, PlayStation, or Nintendo) and turn off the recurring $3.99 monthly charge from that account’s subscription settings.1Minecraft. Minecraft Marketplace Pass The pass renews automatically until you do. Cancel through the wrong platform and the charges keep coming, which is where most people slip up.
Cancel Through Microsoft or Xbox
If you subscribed on a PC through the Minecraft Marketplace or through Xbox, the billing sits on your Microsoft account. Sign in to the Microsoft Services and Subscriptions page in a web browser using the same account you used to buy the pass.2Microsoft. Cancel Your Microsoft Subscription Find the Marketplace Pass, click Manage, then choose the option to cancel or turn off recurring billing, and confirm.
Your pass stays active through the end of the current billing cycle. You won’t be charged again after that. If you change your mind before the period ends, you can resubscribe from the same page.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Apple handles billing for any subscription started through the App Store, so you cancel on the device, not through Minecraft or Microsoft. Open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.3Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple Select the Minecraft Marketplace Pass and tap Cancel Subscription.
If it’s not in the list, you likely signed up through Microsoft directly. Use the Microsoft web steps above instead.
Cancel on Android
For Google Play subscriptions, open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, and select Payments and Subscriptions, then Manage Subscriptions.4Google Play Help. Find the Marketplace Pass and cancel it.
Deleting the Minecraft app does not cancel the subscription. The billing sits in your Google account, so charges continue until you turn off renewal.
Cancel on PlayStation
On a PS5, open Settings, then Users and Accounts, then Account, then Payment and Subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Select the Marketplace Pass and choose Cancel Subscription.5PlayStation. Cancel on Nintendo Switch
Open the Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu and pick the account that bought the pass. Tap your user icon in the upper-right corner to open Account Information, scroll down to the Passes section, and select “Cancel Your Subscription by Turning Off Automatic Renewal” next to the Marketplace Pass.6Nintendo Support. One Nintendo-specific quirk: once you turn off auto-renewal, you can’t turn it back on during the current subscription period. What Happens to Your Downloaded Content
You keep access to the full Marketplace Pass catalog until the end of your paid billing period. After that, what you keep depends on the type of content.
Monthly Character Creator items you claimed during your subscription are yours permanently and stay in your account. Worlds, texture packs, skin packs, and mash-ups work differently: if a piece of content leaves the Marketplace Pass catalog or your subscription ends, you have to buy it from the Marketplace to keep using it. The files aren’t wiped from local storage, but you won’t be able to load them without resubscribing or purchasing them.1Minecraft. Minecraft Marketplace Pass
World templates get a safety net. Any world templates saved to your cloud storage remain available for purchase within 18 months of ending your subscription, as long as they’re still offered on the Minecraft Marketplace.1Minecraft. Minecraft Marketplace Pass If you’ve been building in a downloaded world and want it long term, buy it before that 18-month window closes.
Getting a Refund on Your Last Charge
Canceling stops future charges but doesn’t automatically refund the most recent one. Whether you can get money back depends on where you subscribed and how quickly you act.
For subscriptions bought directly through Microsoft, refunds are sometimes available when you cancel shortly after a purchase or renewal. Eligibility is determined automatically during the cancellation flow, so there’s no separate form. Not every cancellation results in a refund. In certain countries, including Canada, France, and South Korea among others, Microsoft offers prorated refunds if you cancel at any point during a billing period. If you subscribed through the App Store, Microsoft can’t help. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, select Request a refund, and pick the charge. Apple’s process typically takes 24 to 48 hours for a response.8Apple Support. Canceling Before a Free Trial Charges You
First-time subscribers on most platforms get a 30-day free trial. After the trial, the subscription rolls over to $3.99 per month unless you cancel first. The trial isn’t offered to anyone who has previously held a Marketplace Pass or Realms Plus subscription, and Nintendo Switch users are excluded entirely.9Minecraft. Say Hello to Marketplace Pass
The cancellation steps for a free trial are the same as for a paid subscription. Use the platform-specific method matching where you signed up. Canceling mid-trial usually lets you keep access through the remaining trial days without being billed. If you miss the window and get charged, the refund options above apply.
