Cancel the Club Membership Online
The online form is the fastest route. Good Sam’s terms confirm you can cancel your membership and the recurring payment authorization at any time through the online tool.1Good Sam. One caveat: the online form only cancels the auto-renewal on your Club membership, Standard or Elite. TravelAssist, Roadside Assistance, and the Extended Service Plan are separate and won’t be touched.

Each Good Sam Product Cancels Separately
This is where members get charged after thinking they canceled. Good Sam sells several products under one brand, and each has its own billing and its own cancellation path. Check your recent card or bank statements to see exactly which Good Sam charges you’re paying, especially if you signed up through a Camping World location where bundling is common.

Cancel More Than 30 Days Before Renewal
Good Sam Club memberships auto-renew each year and charge the card on file unless you cancel first.2Good Sam. Good Sam Membership Checkout The renewal charge posts roughly one month before your expiration date.5Good Sam. Good Sam Club FAQ Cancel more than 30 days before that expiration date and you won’t be billed for the next term. Your current benefits stay active through the paid term.

Refunds: What You Can and Can’t Get Back
Club Membership
Club fees are non-refundable.5Good Sam. Good Sam Club FAQ Once the renewal charge processes, canceling afterward won’t reverse it.2Good Sam. Good Sam Membership Checkout The terms say plainly that “Membership fees are non-refundable unless prohibited by law.”1Good Sam. Good Sam Membership Terms and Conditions Standard runs $39 per year, Elite $149. Either way, the only window to avoid a charge is before renewal.
Extended Service Plan
The ESP works differently. Cancel within 30 days of the signature or effective date without having filed a claim, and you get a full refund. After that window, or if you’ve filed any claim, you get a pro-rated refund based on the remaining term minus a $50 administrative fee.6Good Sam Extended Service Plan. Good Sam Extended Service Plan Terms and Conditions If someone told you Good Sam gives pro-rated refunds, they were describing the ESP, not the Club.
Confirm the Cancellation Stuck
Don’t take a verbal “you’re all set” as proof. Verify in more than one place:
- Get it in writing. Ask for a confirmation email or reference number on the call; screenshot the confirmation screen online.
- Log in to goodsam.com and check that the account status reads canceled or inactive, not active or pending renewal.
- Watch your card and bank statements around the date the next renewal would normally post. One full billing cycle is usually enough to know the recurring charge has stopped.
Keep the confirmation number and any cancellation emails for at least six months in case a charge shows up later.
If You’re Charged After Canceling
Call Member Services at 1-866-205-7451 first with your confirmation number. Many post-cancellation charges are processing delays and get reversed quickly.
If Good Sam won’t reverse it, dispute the charge with your credit card issuer. Federal law gives you 60 days from the date the first statement showing the error was mailed to dispute it in writing. Send the letter to the issuer’s billing inquiry address, not the payment address. Include your account number, a description of the error, and copies of your cancellation confirmation. Use certified mail for proof of delivery. The issuer must acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve it within 90.7Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges
