To cancel an American Greetings membership, sign in to your account, open the Manage Membership page, and choose “Do not renew membership.” You can also cancel by calling customer support at 1-800-711-4474. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you have to cancel through that store instead. Cancel on the American Greetings Website
Log in with the email address and password you registered with. Go to your account page and click “Manage Membership,” which takes you to americangreetings.com/myaccount/managemembership. Select “Do not renew membership.”2American Greetings. American Greetings Help Center Your access continues through the end of the current paid term, and the account will not renew for another cycle.
The site may show a retention offer or ask why you’re leaving. Click through until you reach a confirmation screen, then save or screenshot it. If the Manage Membership link doesn’t appear in the menus, go directly to americangreetings.com/myaccount.
Cancel by Phone
Call American Greetings customer support at 1-800-711-4474.3American Greetings. Membership FAQs Have the email address on your account and the last four digits of the card on file ready. Tell the representative you want to cancel, and ask for a confirmation number or email before you hang up. That confirmation is your evidence if a charge shows up later.
Cancel Through Apple or Google Play
If you originally subscribed through a mobile app store, American Greetings can’t cancel the subscription for you. Billing runs through the platform.
On an Apple device, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, find American Greetings, and tap Cancel Subscription.4Apple Support. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Charges continue until you cancel through the store’s subscription settings.
If You’re on the 7-Day Free Trial
New members who sign up for the 7-day free trial have to cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Cancel during those seven days and your payment method is never billed. Miss the window and American Greetings automatically charges the subscription fee you selected at signup.3American Greetings. Membership FAQs Only first-time members qualify for the free trial, so it can’t be used to restart a canceled membership.
Refunds After Cancellation
Subscription fees are nonrefundable. If you cancel partway through a billing period, you don’t get money back for the unused time, but you keep premium access until the paid term ends.6American Greetings. American Greetings Terms of Service The company reserves the right to issue refunds case by case, but it has no obligation to do so.
Two narrow exceptions apply. Residents of New York and Colorado who see a subscription price increase can cancel within 14 days of being charged the higher rate and receive a prorated refund for the remaining term. Consumers in the United Kingdom or European Union have a 14-day cooling-off period after purchase or auto-renewal in which they can cancel for a full reimbursement, minus the value of any service already used.6American Greetings. What Happens After You Cancel
Premium features stay active through the end of the period you already paid for. After that date, the account drops to a limited free version, and no further charges hit your payment method.2American Greetings. American Greetings Help Center You can still log in, but you lose access to the full ecard library and the premium customization tools that require a membership.
Watch for a confirmation email. If one doesn’t arrive within a day, log back in and check the Manage Membership page to confirm the account shows it won’t renew. On what would have been the next billing date, check your card or bank statement to make sure no charge went through.
If You Get Charged After Canceling
First, call American Greetings at 1-800-711-4474 with your cancellation confirmation number. Most billing errors from completed cancellations get resolved at that step.
If the company won’t reverse the charge, dispute it through your credit card issuer. Under federal law, you must send a written dispute to your creditor within 60 days of the statement date that shows the charge.7Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors The letter should include your name, account number, the amount you believe is wrong, and why you think it’s an error. Most card issuers also let you file disputes through their app or website, but the 60-day clock runs regardless of which method you use.
If you believe American Greetings is making cancellation unreasonably difficult, you can file a complaint with the FTC at ftc.gov.
